Zaron Lip product review

Hi Beauties,

I know you read the title so you know what time it is… I got some Zaron lip products from the mini shop at the GAME store in Kano. As promised in the previous post, here’s a review. I love nude shades and that’s basically what I got. They were having a sale so I didn’t buy these products at full price.

Zaron matte lipstick – Butterscotch

According to Zaron, the matte lipstick is long lasting, waterproof and dries quickly. It also comes in 14 shades. Mine is in the shade butterscotch which is a creamy, beige nude. I usually go for pinky or peachy nudes, but I decided to give this one a try.

Zaron lipstick pen – mist and maxim

The lipstick pens are in the shade maxim and mist. They also double as lip liners. Maxim is a deep red color and Mist is a peachy nude, not as peachy as I am used to, but peachy!. (see swatches below).

Thoughts

I love how creamy and long wearing the lip products are. The matte lipstick (butterscotch) didn’t budge when I wore it to work. I only had to reapply once during the day. Unlike some matte lipsticks, my lips stayed moisturized and did not start flaking ( i cannot state enough how much this impressed me). Butterscotch paired with a random brown lipliner that I use is fast becoming my favorite everyday lip color.

The lipstick pens (especially maxim) are highly pigmented and stay even longer than the lipstick. I use maxim mostly as a lipliner because I love the definition it gives. I love lining my lips. But you can use it all over your lips for a bold look.

Mist is a bit too much for me to wear without lining my lips. It just looks all shades of wrong on me. It might look good on people with smaller lips though. However, if you are like me, just line your lips and save people the strength of gawking at you.

Prices

I bought these products on sale so I will share the actual price and how much I got it. Please note that at the time you’re reading this the products may have gone back to their original price.

  • Matte lipstick – original price 2,500 NGN sale 1,000 NGN
  • Lipstick pens – original price 1,695 NGN each, sale 1,695 NGN for 2

Have you tried any of these products? Do you prefer nudes or colorful lip products?

Xx
